Nazar Mohammad Soleimani was one of the iconic Dutar player in Khorasan ( biggest state in north east of Iran ). He was from Taibad and he was left hand player. There are very few records remains from him but his unique style of playing spread through his students. "Paltaan" means "Elephants". It is said that this song was played for more than two thousands year with other ancient instruments. During those times they play and learn the game of war with the game with the same name. This type of Dutar is specific to the south of khorasan. Taibad,Torbate Jaam and some other cities. This instrument has many different versions in middle asia and each one play with different technique.
