Francis Hillman "Scrapper" Blackwell (1903–1962) was an American blues guitarist and singer, best known as half of the guitar-piano duo he formed with Leroy Carr in the late 1920s and early 1930s. He was an acoustic single-note picker in the Chicago blues and Piedmont blues styles.

"Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out" is a blues standard written by Jimmy Cox in 1923. Its lyrics, told from the point of view of somebody who was once wealthy during the Prohibition era, reflect on the fleeting nature of material wealth and the friendships that come and go with it.
