Julio Argentino Jerez was a guitarist, composer and poet. He was born on July 23, 1900 in Cúyoj in Argentina and he died in Buenos Aires on September 21, 1954. Julio Argentino Jerez was a revolutionary, samba and chacarera artist. His chacarera "Añoranzas" is considered as the cultural Hymn of the Santiago but perhaps his most famous song is the samba "Engañera".
