Volta Seca foi um cangaceiro do bando de Lampião que atuou no Nordeste brasileiro por volta dos anos 1920 e 1930. Era um grupo de bandidos que, apesar de serem bandidos, roubavam dos ricos e distribuíam aos mais pobres, por isso Lampião, seu líder, ficou conhecido como Robin Hood do sertão.

Esta música é uma das canções do cangaço, cantada pelos cangaceiros e composta também por eles. A letra relata uma ordem à Maria Bonita, esposa de Lampião, para que levante e faça o café pois o dia já estava raiando e a polícia já estava de pé.

Volta Seca was a cangaceiro of the Lampião band that acted in the Brazilian Northeast around the 1920s and 1930s. It was a group of bandits who, despite being bandits, stole from the rich and distributed to the poor, so Lampião, their leader, became known as Robin Hood of the backlands.

This song is one of the songs of cangaço, sung by the cangaceiros and also composed by them. The letter reports an order to Maria Bonita, Lampião's wife, to get up and make breakfast because the day was already dawning and the police were already standing.
