Vasija de Barro is a musical composition in danzante rythm, known as "the unofficial anthem of Ecuador." The lyrics refer to the ancestral rituals of the country as a symbol of the desire to return to Mother Earth and was written in 1950 by the poets Jorge Carrera Andrade, Jorge Enrique Adoum, Hugo Alemán and the painter Jaime Valencia. The melody of the song was created by Gonzalo Benitez
