Maxima Mejia was one of the most expressive and privileged voices in the Ecuadorian songbook. She is a frequent solo singer, but she also sang and recorded as a duet with Fressia Saavedra Gómez, Blanca Palomeque Robayo, Maruja Mendoza Sangurima and Agustín Bohórquez. She recorded in Guayaquil for Cóndor and Ónix records.
